A Place Along the Way's Emergency Teen Shelter ("T" is for Teens)is our newest project and in much need of your help.

Please allow me to introduce A Place Along the Way, a “Grass root” Non-Profit Public Benefit Corporation. We have been organized since March 2003and received our 501(c)(3) in 2005. Since 2001 we have been providing services to high-risk youth with the emphasis on addictions, crime and homelessness. We are an organization with no paid staff, no holidays and no vacations, we are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All services are provided in a home setting, giving the young people a sense of belonging and comfort. Many of your young people (ages 14-24) come from broken and drug addicted homes, foster care (when they turn 18 with no where to go) We provide them many services free of charge.

Without a solid base for decision making some young people turn to the streets. The streets have a simple solution: If it feels good - do it. They try alcohol, sex and drugs, these become intriguing - at first, then comfortable. Now compulsive, with no where to turn, locked into a life in the streets the youth become homeless.

You are the one who can help unlock their lives. You might ask where does the money go? It goes to many areas within our organization. Food, clothing, bedding, blankets, educational material, outings, scholarships, etc... to teens with little or no money. It will buy much needed hygiene, or personal items. It will provide much needed supplies and or help keep the doors open.
