WHO ARE WE?
A Place Along the Way (APATW) was established early 2001 by Carla Canada who began providing lunches
in the parks, along with inspirational words trying to detour the youth from a life of drugs,
crime and violence.
In 2003 APATW took it indoors and started support groups, feeding and sheltering
the homeless teens (whether they were runaways or kicked out of their homes).
Our services to include food, shelter, laundry, showers, school enrollment,teacher/student mediation, parent/child mediation, one on one
outings, tutoring, and group activities.
A Place Along the Way works tirelessly to provide effective services for at-risk youth emphasizing
and encouraging the non-use of drugs and alcohol. APATW has partnered with several public and private
agencies so that we may provide services to our youth and their families.
It is our mission to improve the lives of the youth of today, buy educating and displaying a life free
from addiction, crime and homelessness to enhance personal, social and economic development and enable the
youth to lead mature, responsible, healthy, independent adult lives.
